Most travel writing addresses a couple in their thirties with a high tolerance for noise and stairs. Compasserie does not. Every guide is written for one reader: the gay man over fifty who wants comfort, welcome, and an unhurried week.

That means the neighborhoods where you will sleep well, not the ones with the loudest bar. The table worth booking. The walk that is actually flat. And the part no glossy guide prints: how welcome you are in that country, in law and in practice, stated plainly and dated, so you can decide for yourself.
